Glamping / Cultural Tourism / Lodges

Glamping, Lodging & Destination Development

One of PINE's highest-priority initiatives is the development of destination-based tourism opportunities on tribal lands. These projects are intended to create long-term economic growth while providing visitors with a unique experience rooted in the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Penobscot Nation.

Current efforts include:

Evaluating and preparing multiple development sites for future glamping and lodging opportunities.
Building partnerships with public, private, and nonprofit organizations to support project financing and implementation.
Exploring a range of accommodations, including glamping experiences, cabins, and lodging facilities integrated within the broader tourism strategy.
Creating destinations that reflect Penobscot values, culture, and environmental stewardship.

Cultural & Eco-Tourism

Cultural tourism and eco-tourism are foundational components of PINE's vision for economic development.

As visitors experience Penobscot lands through lodging, recreation, and outdoor activities, PINE seeks to create opportunities to share the rich history, traditions, and values of the Penobscot Nation.

Future opportunities may include:

Cultural interpretation throughout tourism destinations

Project Types
We support a diverse range of projects that strengthen communities, expand opportunities, and deliver reliable services through federal partnerships, subcontracting relationships, and grant-funded initiatives. Our work includes staffing and workforce support, infrastructure and connectivity programs, and collaborative projects with agencies and organizations including NIH, NIST, BIE, and Spectrum providers.

MicroGrid

PINE is actively exploring opportunities to advance resilient and sustainable energy systems through microgrid development.

This work includes evaluating community-scale energy solutions that can improve energy independence, reliability, and long-term sustainability for tribal communities.

Photovoltaic Energy
